The Fish Van depicts a mackerel lying on ice in the back of Dad’s fish van. It’s an image that comes with a very distinct smell, one that instantly brings back a deep sense of nostalgia.

It takes me back to childhood memories of inspecting Dad’s van, running loose around the fish factory, and getting up close to the market goods for the day. It’s a small glimpse into those everyday moments that looking back feel quite special.
