The Visitor depicts a compass jellyfish, a seasonal visitor to the Irish sea. If you’re a sea swimmer like me, you may have encountered these jellyfish off Ballyhornan Beach, a particular hotspot for these summer visitors.

I chose to paint the compass jellyfish because I love the distinctive markings across its surface - a beautiful pattern I’ve spotted from above while paddleboarding.
