On Toast is inspired by the tinned fish we often enjoyed as a snack growing up. My cousin and I still love this simple treat, particularly served on toast with a cup of tea, preferably in the garden on a sunny day.

It’s a small ritual with a strong sense of nostalgia - a snack beloved by the daughters of fish merchants, though perhaps not one that will appeal to everyone’s taste.
